The Course

The 18-hole championship course, designed by Dick Wilson, opened for play in 1963.  The course is maintained with bermuda grass and overseeded in late October with rye grass to tees and fairways and poa trivialis on the greens.  The playing conditions have been second to none in the area during the past five years with plans to continue this trend.

Many beautiful native birds, including sand hill cranes and other Florida Wildlife, have made their home on the 170 acres of picturesque, rolling terrain and around the eight lakes on the course, adding to the enjoyment of playing at Royal Oak.

The course is challenging for every level of golfer.  Lorie Kane, 4-time LPGA Tour winner, has chosen Royal Oak as her 'winter home course' when not on the Tour.  A number of other PGA professionals make Royal Oak their winter home.
